This Weekend #2.

This weekend I went to visit my wonderful boyfriend, Tom, up at his university.

When I go visit Tom I always have a brilliant time.

It doesn’t matter if the weekend is packed full of activities or completely relaxed and spent at home, I never fail to leave happy.

Long-distance is really difficult, I’m not going to lie, but it does have some positives! The best thing about it is that every time you are reunited the time spent together is so precious and feels that extra bit special 🙂

We had a mixture of activity and relaxation, the perfect balance really.

We went for walks along the beautiful river.

We saw the first signs of Spring’s arrival.

We watched films (50/50, The Adjustment Bureau and K-Pax) and munched cookies (and un-pictured toffee popcorn!).

We sat in cafes, drank coffee and shared chocolate fudge cake.

We cooked tasty and healthy food. This is a plate of whole wheat pasta and tomato sauce with onions, peppers, quorn chicken, ham, garlic and spices – delicious.

And most importantly, we spent some magical moments together!

Hope your weeks are turning out well 🙂

What did you do this weekend?
What have you got planned this week, anything special?

p.s. Thank you so much for all of your brilliant advice on my last post! Your suggestions were all fantastic and I will be replying to all of your comments tomorrow 🙂

p.p.s. I hope you all had a lovely Shrove Tuesday/Mardi Gras/Pancake day!

  1. I’m glad you had such a fantastic time! I agree that long-distance is really hard but can be so worth it, and definitely has some positives. Being excited to see each other every single time is great, even if the inbetween bits can be not so great.

Does your boyfriend live in Durham or did I make that up?! The first picture of the river looks familiar. If so, I love Durham! If not, it looks beautiful wherever it is 🙂

    You make an adorable couple!

    1. Thank you lovely 🙂 Yes I completely agree with you!

Yes he does, well spotted! Durham is gorgeous, apart from it’s hilly nature (so painful!) it’s one of my favourite cities in England.

      Thank you again!

  2. I’m glad you had such a wonderful time with your boyfriend! I can imagine how difficult it is not to be with him all the time and being so far away from him. But I agree that it will make you treasure all the time that you do get to see each other more. 🙂

  3. I agree that it can be difficult, but it’s so wonderful when you do get to spend time together, even though you wish it was more often. You look so happy together!

I’m not surprised that you shared that cake. WOW, it’s huge. And so chocolatey.

  4. So sweet! Kudos to you and Tom for managing a long distance relationship–you’re right, it is really difficult. But it sounds like you make the most of your time together, glad you had a great weekend.

  5. Those photos of you are absolutely beautiful! I’m glad you had a good time – that cake looks fantastic 🙂
I’ve been doing the long distance thing for 6 years now and it’s tough! It makes the moments together so much sweeter though.

    1. Thank you Sarah, that’s such a nice compliment! It was delicious 🙂

Oh gosh that’s a long time to be living apart! I hope you get to be a bit closer soon, you must have a very strong relationship!
