What I Ate Wednesday No.36

Hello there πŸ™‚

In case you’re on holiday like me and are therefore struggling to keep track of what day it is, today is Wednesday = WIAW time!

Thank you again to the lovely Jenn for creating this beauty! Go check out her blog to find out a little more about the concept…

Recently I’ve been eating lots of tasty food, I didn’t really manage to take many photos over the last couple of days so I shall just share my typical day of food with you. My breakfast stays pretty similar from day-to-day:

Weetabix soaked in milk and then topped with fresh blueberries. Despite the lack of variety, breakfast is my favourite meal of the day. I could easily have this again for another meal each day! Sounds daft to a lot of people but I love the stuff.

This morning was spent organising my things and scheduling a couple of posts for when I am in Paris, you should have three posts coming your way whilst I’m gone so hopefully that will be enough to not abandon you altogether!

Lunch was leftovers – the best kind of lunch really. This particular meal was made up of a bulgur wheat salad with cherry tomatoes, cucumber and radish along with a sausage and ketchup. It’s such a summer-y lunch that I can pretend it’s nicer outside. When will the good weather come back??

We have finished the last of the cupcakes I made on Saturday, they were a complete success with everyone who tried them! So delicious, I love the added interest with the strawberry flavour and the cute little strawberry jam well in the centre.

This afternoon Tom came over and we walked into town to see the new Spiderman film. I was actually pretty surprised by it – I’m usually fairly uninspired by 3D films but this was much more effective than I expected. The storyline isn’t too flat for an action film either, there is some kind of plot so you don’t get bored. I have to admit I cried (I know – it’s pathetic to cry in an action film!).

Dinners have been pretty good too lately, a fair amount of pasta has been consumed. Tonight I actually had chicken in a pita bread with salad but this photo is of dinner the other night and one of my favourites: chilli courgettes on spaghetti πŸ™‚

So tomorrow I’m off bright and early in the morning! So excited to see Paris and I will definitely be taking lots of photos to share with you all – look out for them next week!

What’s the best thing you’ve eaten recently?
Any new films you’ve particularly enjoyed lately?

  1. I’m totally with you on the Weetabix thing! I like having 1 weetabix biscuit and 1 oatibix biscuit as they’re slightly different tastes and textures.. although the oatibix soakes up waay more milk so sometimes you have to add a bit more (although I’m kinda a fan of the mushiness at the end).

I think WAY too much about weetabix.

  2. Ohh I can’t wait for next week’s Paris post(s)! And your food looks so simple, clean and delicious as always. The zucchinis in my garden really didn’t grow, so I never got to make any courgette-topped pasta dishes–usually a summer favorite/standard of mine. I’ll just ogle yours instead πŸ™‚

  3. I am the same exact way when it comes to breakfast. Rarely ever do I not have a smoothie in the morning.

I’m so jealous you are in Paris @ the moment.. but I hope you’re having an AWESOME time!!!

  4. I want to see spider-man! I’m glad you enjoyed it! I’m that way with my breakfast too- oatmeal with whole milk, maple syrup, and fresh sliced strawberries- It’s my favorite! All your eats look delicious as always πŸ™‚
